I will be guiding guests through the woodlands and paths above Chiesa del Carmine while our local truffle hunter Massimo and his dog will be hunting for truffles. Visitors can make as many questions as they like and we will be happy to share all of the secrets behind this fascinating activity and unique products with you. After the hunt, we will go back to Vineria del Carmine where I will be running a tasting of the wines and organic olive oil that are produced at Chiesa del Carmine farm. Wine and extra virgin organic oil will be matched with fresh truffle (if the hunt goes well), truffle spreads, and a selection of Umbrian cheeses and meats, and I will provide guests with a description of all of the products and history of the Carmine valley.
My name's Mattia and I'm a certified bi-lingual sommelier and passionate wine lover. Sharing my experience with guests is by far the most exciting aspect of my job. I love talking visitors through the wines which are produced at the little farm I work for. I am always happy to give advice on food and wine pairing, tasting tips, and try to satisfy any visitors's curiosity. This is what I have been doing for the last 5 years. Massimo is a local policeman and truffle hunter. He has two wonderful dogs that will be super happy to guide you during the truffle hunting and herb foraging experience.

While truffle hunting, we will be walking through the paths that wind up the hills above Chiesa del Carmine, a restored church built in 1270 (which can be visited if it is not occupied). The wine and organic olive oil tasting will be conducted at Vineria del Carmine, a newly renovated sixteenth century building at the foot of Monte Tezio.
