- What is Boat Race? Boat Race is a popular Motorsport developed in Japan in which dividends are paid out to people who accurately predict the outcome of the race. In other words, it's a publicly‐managed gambling system that originated in Japan. - What does this tour do? 1) We will meet up at "BoatRace Heiwajima", one of the iconic Boat Race stadiums in Tokyo. First, I will give a brief introduction on the history and rules of Boatracing. Then, I will give a lecture on how to place bets, along with a quick tour of "BoatRace Heiwajima". 2) We will watch a few races together until lunch time (you may or may not place bets then) and then have lunch together at one of the diners within the stadium. 3) Once you get a hang of the system, you could enjoy the races by yourself, or I could accompany you until the final race.
Hi, my name is Koki and I'm an avid Boatrace guru. I've been watching at least 50 races daily for the past few years, and have traveled to Boatrace stadiums nationwide (by the stadium's courtesy as a VIP). I grew up in Los Angeles, California and came back to Japan for college. I can share my insights with you on Boatrace rules and predictions in English. Winning the bets are exciting; however, I believe the most important takeaway from this experience is that you will be able to understand the greatness of Boatracing as a sport!
