We'll visit three speciality coffee venues in the city centre and drink some incredible brews! You'll have the chance to sample varieties prepared using espresso, filter, and pour-over/hand-brew methods, as well as chat with the baristas about what makes a good bean. All the coffee we'll try is ethically and sustainably sourced from around the world, helping to ensure fair conditions for farmers in coffee-growing regions. At each stop, we'll learn the stories of how these impressive Norwich coffee brands got started, and the values and ideas that the pioneers behind the businesses champion in their work.
I'm an award-winning food and travel writer with work published by global media brands like The Guardian, Wired, VICE and NPR. I've reported from 30+ countries, visiting coffee festivals and competitions everywhere from Melbourne to Istanbul. I've met the innovative roasters, importers, baristas and entrepreneurs behind the coffee brands. I seek out the best speciality coffee wherever I go and I have extensive knowledge of third wave coffee. Now, I want to help people explore the coffee scene in my hometown, sharing my knowledge, expertise, and connections to make travellers feel like locals.
Coffee to sample and drinking water at each stop. (Diabetic options and vegan milks are available.)
We'll visit three speciality coffee venues including an award-winning and internationally acclaimed roastery, an arty plant-filled venue with interiors built from scratch following a crowdfunding campaign, and a bohemian spot that's hidden away and only the locals know about.
