Have you ever arrived in a new city and found yourself stricken with a bad case of analysis paralysis? When great food, amazing beer, and a dazzling array of historic architecture are all vying for a slice of your time, charting out an itinerary can be a real challenge! This condition can be as debilitating as a bad case of jet-lag! For a simple cure, come out and join us on a run to catch your bearings. Not only does our tour point out the “must-see-spots” and help you chart a course, we’ll also take a brief look at Asheville’s fascinating backstory. For example, did you know there was a half-executed plan to build a subway system in Asheville back in the 20’s? In fact, there is a whole network of tunnels under the city that no one talks about! Join us for our 1 hour 5K (don't worry, we wont be setting any speed records) The route consists of 17 points of interest all found within the downtown corridor. Because our run will be punctuated by frequent stops at key points and the pace moderate, runners of all skill levels are welcomed to join.
Water will be provided before and after.
Key Sites: Pack Square (the Heart of Asheville), the Grove Arcade, South Slope (the epicenter of Beer Creation) and other less traveled gems!
Running Shoes and appropriate cold weather apparel... it can get cold some times :)
Street parking can be hit or miss if you're arriving by car. The public deck under the Aloft Hotel is cheap and only about a 5 minute walk south of the meeting point at 51 Biltmore Ave.
