The experience begins with your arrival at " Solo " brewery in Kalithea region (just 2 Km outside Heraklion) where - after treating you with a glass of a refreshing beer (100ml) - we will take a tour around the brewery explaining all about the brewing process, the equipment, the ingredients and the techniques used to make different beer styles. During this process we may taste a couple of beers (about 60ml each) right from the tanks. We will then stand around a table and taste 5 - 6 beers ( about 100ml each) from the standard or seasonal range of " Solo " paired with some local food ( small bites ) from our garden and other local producers. During this tasting session we will deepen our understanding on the history, character and flavor profile of basic beer styles like Saison, Pale Ale, Porter, Imperial Stout, IPA etc. We can then have a free discussion, answering any of your questions. The tasting session lasts about 1 hour. We can further suggest you places of interest around Crete to get in touch with the food and craft beer culture of our island.
My name is Kostis and I was born in Crete 40 years ago. I am a marketing professional but also a writer, event producer, graphic designer and traveler with extensive knowledge of our island's history and culture. Since 2015 we run a local craft brewery producing a great range of craft beer styles while educating the local community on craft beer and its culture through beer tastings, food pairings and interactive workshops.

The whole experience takes place in the brewery (indoors) , still guests can sit and enjoy as much beer they like outdoors (yard of the brewery) after the end of the tasting experience.
