Starting at the Agatha Christie Memorial on Cranbourn Street, we will visit the memorials of Women around the City of Westminster, covering a range of Women from all backgrounds and times in History. The Tour will include the memorials of women who have contributed to Literature, Nursing, Royal History, Politics, Campaigners, Women in War Time. We will explore the significance of each woman, as well as mentioning some of the women who do not have memorials in the area, whilst also exploring the history of the memorial, the design and your responses to each memorial as we go along. It is a walking tour that will run in all weather and throughout the year, we hope our guests will walk away from the tour with the knowledge that amongst the larger London landmarks are memorials to women who changed Londons history
Hi! I’m Becky, the founder of Women Of London, a walking tour company that tells the history and stories of Women who have helped to shape and change the city’s History. I have always been passionate about Women's History and studied History at university, I have been a Tour Guide in London for 4 years decided I wanted to spend my days talking about the Women who have influenced, changed and made an impact on London’s history. I want to change the way visitors to London experience its History by offering a different outlook on commonly visited London sites and as a Londoner, it is a fresh and exciting way to show off my wonderful home.
