We meet in Old Mill Park near charming downtown Mill Valley, where we start our walking exploration of Marin's magical redwood forest. Following quiet backroads and footpaths, we visit quiet groves of ancient redwood trees and follow spring-fed creeks to natural pools and cascading falls. In this peaceful forest, unique to the northern California and southern Oregon coastal region, the sequoia semperviren soar hundreds of feet into the sky, providing an unequaled nature experience at base of mighty Mt. Tamalpais. Along the way, you learn about the coastal redwoods' amazing ecology and their clever adaptations for survival over many millions of years. It is a remarkable escape into nature on the slopes of beautiful Mt. Tam.

Note: If you need another start time, please contact me via Airbnb direct message or e-mail at sanfranciscocoastwalk@gmail.com. This refreshing, tranquil walk is also ideal for corporate team building outings! Up to three guests per walk (weekdays only) can take the 8:45AM ferry from SF to the Larkspur terminal where I will meet you at 9:20AM and shuttle you to the walk start and back to the ferry after the walk.

I grew up just over the hill from Muir Woods in Mill Valley. Mt. Tam and the redwood forests were a playground for myself and my childhood pals. Years later, I founded a nature walking company, Coastal Walkers, focusing on the region's abundance of nature trails and scenic coastal spots. My routes are uncrowded and peaceful, a wonderful way to experience northern California nature and the primeval forests of the ancient redwoods.

Ben showed us the most magical spots in the forest. Everything about this trip was amazing. He knows so much about the area, its history, the trees and plants. He is an amazing guide and was so generous with his time. He is also an amazing photographer, and took beautiful photos of my husband and me. I booked this trip for my 65th birthday, and it was absolutely perfect. I plan to check out more of his guided hikes in the area.

We had a lot of fun with Ben on this hike across Mill Valley & Mt. Tam. It was a very refreshing, pleasant & informative hike. Ben shared his childhood stories about growing in the Mill Valley, details about flora & fauna, history of valley while taking us on a unseen areas. I would highly recommend this experience to both local & tourist coming to Bay Area.

Tour was awesome. Ben is a native and comes with more knowledge than you can imagine. Definitely Covid safe. I never felt unsafe.

Cannot say enough about this experience! We loooveed it!! We learned so much about the redwoods and the area. Enjoyable hike with beautiful sights all around. Ben was friendly and accommodating! We wish we would’ve had more time to do his other walks.
