The first step of the production process is to melt the silver. This will allow us to shape it into silver sheets with the correct thickness to produce a final piece. Rolling is the process of changing the thickness of metal sheet by passing it between hardened steel rollers under great pressure. There may be several molds for just one single piece. We must fill every mold with a substance similar to wax and heat it to then allow it to cool off for some time to be able to work with the molds. Chasing is a method of surface decoration in a metal sheet without removing any metal. The design is created with a hammer and punches that are worked over the front of the metal. The result is a low relief embossed into the sheet. After giving the shape to the silver sheet, these are cutted in the correct dimensions of each component of the final piece. Then, we join together the components of the piece and seal these together with wire. Welding is the process of joining through heat all the components of the piece. At this stage of the production process, we can already have a glimpse of what the final piece will look like. The last step is cleaning and final lustration.
