By public transport, bicycle, and foot, we will take you out of Brussels to look deeper at some of Belgium's most influential beers and beer styles. Taking a train to the countryside, we will introduce you to new corners of Belgium, and their beer heritage. We will walk, cycle, or take transit to at least two beer producers, and eat a meal at a beer-loving Belgian restaurant. (If you are not in the condition for walking or cycling for more than an hour, please contact us to see what we can do.) Each experience will be unique, as we have years of experience in exploring the beers of Belgium, and more than a dozen typical Belgian beer styles to share. This nuanced country has an amazing breadth of industrial history, and the Belgian culture of beer and food is our favorite way to share it. At the end of the experience we will take you back to Brussels by train. Transit included, the experience will last at least 6 hours. The program will vary in specific content, depending on the date. Please contact us if you would like to book a private tour.
Casey & Michelangelo
Casey first visited Belgium in 2012, hoping for an internship at a Brussels brewery. Now, he works in beer production, operates beer tours for brewers, and is often behind a number of bars. Michelangelo is a lifelong student of Economic History, and has led a study program in Brussels for more than a decade. Over the years, Michelangelo has made many contacts in the Belgian beer industry and has introduced hundreds of visitors to Belgium, its heritage, and its beers. Together, we teach a summer course and write about the economics of beer, and constantly explore Belgium's rich beer heritage.
