We’ll start out by sitting around the backyard patio table drinking fresh ,iced mint tea and get to know each other and talk about what gardening means to you . Then we’ll take a tour of the gardens. We’ll enjoy the beautiful flowers including irises, day lilies, wildflowers and more! You will even be welcomed to pick your own bouquet ! Next we’ll visit the veggie garden where we will discuss precisely how the seeds are planted, why it’s important to do composting, and which herbs are good to keep the bugs away. You will also get the opportunity to pick the veggies that are ripe and in season ! You will then get to observe the way I use the veggies/herbs in cooking! We might make a spinach and strawberry salad or fresh salsa, or brew some famous Lancaster County meadow tea ! You will leave here with enough knowledge to try your own garden! Whether you live in the city with only a patio or if you live somewhere with a small backyard you will be inspired to grow some of your own food organically!
Organic, creative gardening is my passion. For over ten years I have enjoyed the pleasures of a backyard gardener.Growing up in beautiful Lancaster County , Pennsylvania surrounded by rich farmland was a privilege. My Grandparents and parents taught me gardening by example. As a little girl I loved to help my Grandpa plow the garden with the horse or run out for potatoes or carrots for Moms cooking. Now that I have my own family to feed I find it satisfies me deeply to be able to grow healthy, organic fruits and veggies right in my own backyard!!
I will provide a drink and gluten free snack
