I will teach you how to make Pan-American inspired tapas dishes. You will “learn by doing” in a restaurant environment. With my guidance, I will show you how to prepare and cook three tapas dishes influenced by different regions of Latin America. These will be dishes you can learn and easily prepare for friends and family when you return home. During the time with you I will take the opportunity to teach you about the different flavors and spices used in Latin American dishes, and share about the history of Venezuela and my people. Once we are finished cooking we will enjoy our meal together!
Hello, my name is Francisco Anton. I am the chef and owner of tapas bar Cardon y El Tirano in Miami, FL and La Ñapa in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, NY (opening June, 2019). I am Venezuelan and my love of my country and food transferred over into all aspects of my life, primarily cooking. I have over ten years of experience as a chef, working in kitchens in Miami and New York. After a long love affair with cooking I decided to open my first restaurant Cardon y El Tirano in 2014. Following the success of my first business I am opening my second restaurant, La Ñapa tapas bar in Brooklyn, NY.

La Ñapa is situated in the historic area of Crown Heights, Brooklyn. We are close to many centers of interest including the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park. The restaurant will be closed to the public during our classes.
