The only intimate afternoon tour aside from our scheduled morning tours a few days a week. The start time is flexible and the pace is set by you. The theme is also unique in the extended focus on our sacred relationship with the plant world and various sacraments. We will meet at the botanical gardens and walk through a river surrounded by towering bamboo and fruit trees. Upon entering the village we will tour the premises, meet villagers, reason with elders visiting our sacred spaces, communal kitchen, tabernacle for our ceremonies, drumming, chanting, wellness center, various preservation stations, and sacramental grounds. We will then stroll through an organic herb and vegetable garden which feeds the vegan livity of the community, called an ital food science, with sustainable farming where we process our own food and natural juices. Learn a nursery of plant nutrients and medicine including kale, arugula and callaloo for green juices. Beds of lettuce, peppers, pumpkin, papaya and more grown in permaculture fashion. We will then visit the vegan prepped kitchen and chocolate station for further cultural immersion. We make chocolate from the earth, healing honey, and powerful noni tonics. We will share seasonal fruits along with coconut water and natural juices on this tour. Experience my journey to become Rastafari.
Born in Montreal and raised in Jamaica, I have had the best of two islands. With a background in marketing, away for school and business, I moved back to Jamaica two years ago to deliver authentic local experiences to travelers. Grassroots tours was my focus. I did a tour to a Rastafari village, found home and moved in. Village practices a horizontal society, equality with an identity where each individual is an owner onto themselves based on ability. My department is marketing and tour development. As a former elite entertainer, hosting is second nature. Having developed many businesses, tips, trips and other tours are provided with our own company Lovenjoy Lifestyle operating custom tailored excursions across the island. As a Rastafari living in an indigenous Village, I am very immersed in the daily lifestyle and community development
Vegetarian cuisine served along with fruits.
Coconut water and/or other natural juices.
The tour starts at the Montego River Gardens with a ten minute walk, briefly crossing a river with water levels below the knees. We will walk through a botanical garden to The Rastafari Indigenous Village where most of our activities will take place only to return to the Montego River Gardens for departure.
