I guide you in the set-up and creation of your hand-painted watercolor greeting cards. You will work from photos of places, people, or objects, and a seasonal still life is set up in the studio for you. Fantasy and abstract techniques and subject matter will be explored too! You will take all of your creations home with you. A hand-painted greeting card is a treasured keepsake for any occasion, or no occasion! As we move into the holiday season, you may be thinking of a unique gift for someone special, but many people choose to keep their cards for themselves! Age Range: 8 - 108 Skill Level: Beginner to expert Please bring: snack, lunch, reference photos (of landscapes, natural objects or people) If we paint outside: Hat, sunscreen, bug stuff, jacket, water bottle, and wear comfortable waterproof shoes *****Dates can be arranged, please message me with requests!*****
I am a professional painter and teacher with many years of experience, and host an on-site gallery. I love guiding folks of all ages in learning -- or relearning -- skills in painting and drawing nature. It is amazing to see the transformation, as students learn mastery of tools and techniques, and take home their own artwork! I learned from masters -- Max Ginsburg, Sebastian Capella, Don Demers, and the École des Beaux-Arts, ENSAD, Art Students League of New York, and La Jolla Arts. I'm a Finalist in ARC, and have an MA with Distinction in Digital Media from London Met.
Hot coffee and tea will be available, and please feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks if you like!
We'll be working in my cozy studio/gallery in Southwest Harbor. If the weather is good, we can take our projects and paint outside.
Please bring reference photos of subjects you'd like to paint
'Non-artists' welcome and encouraged! The gallery where we meet is handicap-accessible. If you have mobility challenges, please notify Mary. We'll plan paint locations that are handicap-friendly!
