Me and my girlfriend are inviting you on a culinary journey. We will meet at the southernmost part of the Római, where we start our programme. We taste all the hungarian streed food specialities on the Római beach e.g. lángos, chimney cake and new wave bistros’ offers. There’s also a variety of drinks, so we will sneak into local pubs to taste both hungarian craft beers, wines made of hungarian grape species and the famous pálinka of choice. We want you to get familiar with the locals-loved but less stereotypical foods, since goulash and chicken paprikash is only awesome when a hungarian grandmother makes it. We will visit 7 different types of bistros, included both ones of the 80's socialist style, and ones of modern street food type.
Gastronomy and the catering industry has always had a special place in my heart, that’s why I followed my father’s route and from the age of 18. Because of my university studies I don’t have time to do these activites, this is why I would like to show you the culinary miracles of the Római-beach, close to my home. I’ve been living here since I was born and I know all the hidden gems worth visiting and trying. Previously I’ve been working in one of the bistros there, so I know the spot as an employee and a guest aswell.
We provide appetizers of each tipe of dish
Each appetizer includes a drink fitting to the meal
Római riverbank’s name comes from being the northernmost border of the Roman empire. It’s less known by tourists but adored by locals and is a spectacle with its ancient trees and natural riverbank, unique in Budapest. New wave bistros just started to discover the opportunities given by the spot, so there’s a lot of excellent and stylish places to pass time while chilling ont he beach, enjoying the chirping birds.
We will eat mostly meat dishes and will consume alcohol (but you can choose not to), and we will walk about 3 kilometers (1,8 miles). After the program you can stay further at the location if you want to.
