This 2.5-hour adventure into a deeper experience of self in nature will begin at my Tea and Sound Meditation space near downtown Manitou Springs, where participants will get acquainted with each other and learn about the medicine wheel. We'll shuttle a 5-7 minutes from the Tea and Sound Meditation space to the Iron Mountain-Intemann Trailhead. At a modest pace on moderately challenging terrain, it's a 30 minute hike to the medicine wheel. Along the way, we'll discuss local points of interest and, then finish the outbound trek with a walking meditation. Once at the Medicine Wheel, we'll circle up for a 20-30 minute guided breathing (pranayama/kriya) ceremony and practice, during which Chris will play the Tibetan singing bowl for all participants. Participants will then get a hands-on opportunity to play the bowls themselves. Chris will teach striking, ringing and "sound sipping" techniques as well as some of the basics about how the bowls relate to and influence the body-mind and the chakras. We'll then hike back down to the trailhead, shuttle to the Tea and Sound Meditation space, and wrap up with a complimentary vegan treat, courtesy of In Joy Baking Company.
Hi, I'm Chris! I'm a life coach and local yoga instructor who believes sound and nature can transport us to new levels of awareness and connect us to ourselves and each other. I am also the owner and operator of the White Yarrow, a Manitou Springs homestays company that hosts folks who come to explore the magic of this region. I love meeting visitors to the area, tending to the animals at our homestead, hiking in the mountains and playing in the local drum circle. Tibetan singing bowls and mountain environments are among my favorite media for helping people to experience their depth and limitless potential. Tibetan singing bowls have been used for 2000 years for sound healing, and there's nothing quite like experiencing their vibration while you take in the fresh mountain air and views from a special place like the medicine wheel.

The Tea and Sound Meditation space, located near downtown Manitou Springs, is our meet-up and inclement weather location, and the place where Chris and his wife Jillian offer healing ceremonies for individuals and small groups. A medicine wheel is a stone circle believed to have spiritual , astronomical, territorial, and calendrical significance. This circle sits in an infrequently travelled area in the foothills overlooking Manitou Springs.
