Together we'll explore Lisbon's famous and less-famous neighborhoods on a vintage bike. We will roll past the friendly faces, little shops and enjoy some of the great views our city has to offer. Thanks to our bicycles we can hop on and off when we wish and reach places that are hard to reach in other ways. We will weave our way through Lisbon's local and global character and enjoy some of its typical snacks and drinks along the way. Join me on a lively journey to explore the different faces of Lisbon. Urban bicycle-riding experience is required. Don't get scared of Lisbon's hills and traffic, together we will safely find our way through them. There won't be any real tough climbing since we're starting on a rather high spot in the city! It will actually be more downhill and flat.
One Asian snack Samosa or other similar snack. Vegetarian or vegan is an option!
A typical drink Non-alcoholic or alcoholic
Optional: Helmet Please let me know beforehand if a should bring a helmet for you. And what size: S-XL
I was born in the Netherlands but lived 5 years in Portugal as a child. A few years ago I left Amsterdam where I had finished my Sociology studies. Out of love for the charming and mysterious city of Lisbon my girlfriend and I chose to come and live here. This city's social and geographic characteristics gave my love for vintage bikes a huge boost. Also did my Sociology background help me to never get bored when witnessing the daily events and interactions that Lisbon's local and visiting people create. I'm glad to be able to share this passion and my love for this city thanks to these tours!
The meeting spot is in front of a neighborhood café/restaurant. This is rather practical. For example for a quick 60ct coffee, go to the toilet before the trip, get a snack or drink for during the tour and perhaps a meal afterwards. I don't have a deal with them (or at any other place where we'll go), it's just convenient. There's also a small grocery shop across the street. At this spot we will shortly fit and try the bikes and start our tour!
Wear easy clothes, just casual, high-tech is unnecessary. Sunscreen may be needed. Eat enough beforehand, as only a snack is included. Be aware the tour might last longer or shorter than planned!
