In this class I will teach you the basics of Portuguese bread making using flour, sourdough, water and salt. We will work with locally sourced ingredients. You will have the opportunity to make a hand kneaded loaf from scratch. I will share with you my technique and process as well as tips and tricks which will provide you the knowledge to bake your own bread at home. We will make 2 types of bread, a wheat flour and a corn flour bread. Bread making takes time. This will allow us to sit down together and enjoy a Portuguese breakfast with freshly baked bread.
I am a professional chef and baker living in Lisbon for the past 10 years. I am passionate about bread making, fascinated how flour and water can transform into this magic food called bread. At the moment, I divide my time between teaching bread making classes and working as a pastry chef for an organic cafe.

Equipment and ingredients
The bread workshop will take place in my home, a typical apartment from the 40s in Arroios neighborhood. The kitchen is semi-professional so we'll have all the space and equipment to conduct our class.
