This experience is targeting those travellers who wish to gain an insight about an Indian home and interact with a middle class family of four- me, my husband and two teenage children. You'll get to see how homes in India are styled and furnished and how a family lives in India. Itinerary- 1. Upon arriving, you'll be given a traditional Indian welcome. 2. Thereafter, you will be served Indian drinks like "Khas" or "Shikanjvi". 3. Prepare snacks like Bhelpuri, Dhokla, Samosa etc. The food prepared wouldn't be restricted to just Northern India. 4. Move on to prepare the dinner. We'll make a Punjabi dish called "Chole Bhathure" or north Indian cuisine like "Daal Makhni and Naan". We can also make a South Indian dish like "Dosa" and "Pav Bhaji". 5. We all have sweet cravings, don't we? For the dessert, we'll prepare delicious "Rava Kesri Halwa" or "Gulab Jamun". How this experience is different from other food-tasting/cooking classes? * completely hands on and engaging experience * discover the culinary heritage and cultural values of India, and not just restricted to food * learn about Indian family values, food habits, and etiquette *taste food from all states and regions of India * sit, talk and relax while getting to know each other's cultures. You get a chance to interact with an Indian family rather than an individual
I am a homemaker and very passionate about cooking. I have been using my skills to make exquisite delicacies since the past 20 years. Being a perfect host comes naturally to me. I frequently host kitty parties and get-together events at my home and am always complimented for my cooking, with people asking me to teach them how to make a particular dish. In India, it is believed food made with love and warmth tastes much better than a chef in a restaurant who is just doing his job. Come, experience the taste of Indian food made by an Indian woman, expert in cooking. Your taste buds would thank you! My husband, Roopak, shall be my co-host for the Experience. Welcoming Guests in our home and showing Indian culture to Guests is his passion.
And a quick guide on how to dance to the beats of bollywood music!
Any one of the above based on your preference
We will conduct the class in our home, which is just 30 minutes from International Airport. Guests are free to explore the house, see how Indian homes are styled, how a middle class Indian family lives and what kitchen utensils are used. Guests will also get to use 'Party Sink', eat under ‘Airbnb Lamp’ and see ‘Mini Netherlands’ in our home.
