Riverview Cottage in Keosauqua

Overlooking the Des Moines river, this inviting cottage offers the perfect getaway for a hunting retreat or girl’s weekend. Built in 1870 and thoughtfully restored in 2024, it offers a modern kitchen with an oversized island, spacious living room, and two cozy bedrooms with custom made barn doors. Situated in the heart of Keosauqua, you’ll be walking distance to restaurants, shops, and city park. Enjoy an afternoon fishing at Lake Sugema or exploring the historic Villages of Van Buren County.

2 Bedroom apartment, silent and relaxing

Very quiet location at the end of a cul de sac next to MIU campus and Fairfield loop trail. Ethernet with fast fibre optic internet in all rooms and wifi can be on if needed. The house has minimal EMF pollution and no smart meter. TV has Roku, with Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube Premium included and DVD player. Whole house Alen air purifier with ionizing option. Six filter, reverse osmosis drinking water system. All rooms feature the work of a local award winning photographer Marty Hulsebos.

For added comfort & cleanliness, the home features an Aurabeat sanitizing air purifier, and all windows are equipped with blinds for privacy & comfort

Lounge in a hammock, relax by the firepit, explore the 2 mile walking trail, look for our resident owl in one of the two classic barns. Or have an adventure or meal in eclectic Fairfield, just 5 miles away.

Just steps from the local dog park, and a short walk downtown. - 42” TV with most streaming services - Fully equipped kitchen including chef knives, Vitamix, and condiments - Free coffee with grinder & french press - NO CHORES! Just lock up and have a safe trip! Privacy: Guests have the entire main house. Host occupies basement unit with separate entrance. No shared spaces, and host never enters main house. Backyard is not available for guest use.
