Little Braxted is situated 12 miles north of Chelmsford and 14 miles south of Colchester.

A charming apartment located within the Grade 1 listed Layer Marney Tower! This apartment is situated within the main building of the Tower but benefits from its own private entrance and is completely self-contained. The apartment comprises an entrance lobby with a small kitchenette (microwave, fridge, kettle, tableware for 2), a 5-piece modern bathroom (shower, bath, toilet, sink, bidet) and a magnificent master bedroom with a huge four-poster bed. In the grounds of the Old Schoolhouse sits our luxurious lodge. Separate from the main house. The newly decorated and refreshed Lodge comprises of 1 bedroom(with kingsize bed) open planned lounge with table & seating area. Bathroom consists of a shower & WC, there is an addition with a beautiful relaxing Sauna, Views through the large bi fold doors of the rolling Essex countryside with the most spectacular sunsets on the horizon. You can enjoy an evening firepit or breakfast on the patio.

Cottage on the beach

With its own beachside garden and breathtaking uninterrupted views of the wildest of Essex creeks and marshes, the cottage is only to be reached on foot atop a sea wall. The perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The last in a row of westerly facing cottages, perfect to watch the evening sun go down . From the front garden or even laying in bed, watch the tide slip in and out, the fishing boats come and go and live, for a while, in a world moving at a slower pace.

Boutique cabin in countryside setting in the beautiful peaceful village of Little Baddow, a picturesque village in Essex. 10 minutes by car from the city of Chelmsford and 15 minutes from coastal town of Maldon. The village itself has 2 pubs and lots of walking routes nearby. Paper Mill Lock is a pleasant 30 min walk and has water sport facilities and tea room. Footpath maps available. Travel cot or single fold out guest bed avail on request, no additional cost.

Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra steps to clean & sanitise frequently touched surfaces between reservations. Five mins Chelmsford City Racecourse, 4 mins Hatfield Peverel train station to London, 25 mins Stansted Airport, 30 mins Colchester. Oakwrights is in the middle of Chelmsford, Braintree and Witham all only 10 mins drive.

Beautiful, tranquil parkland setting, originally designed by Sir Humphrey Repton, with ongoing improvements. The Outdoor Heated Pool (April- October inclusive) and Hot Tub (all year) are situated in a sheltered tropical garden, with a Pool House. There is an outdoor hard tennis court. Beautiful lakes, gardens, countryside and wildlife.
