VE Farm

Enjoy the sounds and sights of nature when you stay in this unique place. Our small house is our place of respite as we develop our farm. It is full of many luxuries and a well appointed kitchen to allow for a very comfortable stay. There are views of our farm and the surrounding area from every window and the window above the bed is perfect for stargazing at night from the comfort of your bed. We have many animals on including water buffalo, goats, pigs, and chickens so always something to see.

The Appalachian Trail (McAfee Knob), Smith Mountain Lake, James River, and Carvin Cove reservoir are also close. Feel close to nature while being close to conveniences of shopping and nice restaurants just down the mountain in Salem and Roanoke. One bed/bath with a pull out sofa in living room. Pet friendly! Lakefront Cabin w/HUGE dock- No Cleaning/Pet Fees!

Go jump in the lake off the huge dock into a quiet, scenic cove. Paddle board, kayak, float on a raft or bring your own boat to explore beautiful Smith Mountain Lake. Perfect for a couple or small family getaway. The lake offers plenty of restaurants and shopping, golf, a cinema, wineries and beaches. Please note the hike to the dock is steep and uneven with areas of difficult terrain. You must be must be sure footed and wear proper footwear to get up and down the hill.

The Block Cottage

One bedroom, one bathroom with laundry, open living area, outdoor areas patio and fire pit. Sleeping 1 queen bed in bedroom, futon couch in living area. Take a break and unwind from everyday craziness,. Hang out around the fire pit cook s’mores. Grill out on the back patio, play a game, watch a movie, read a book, or take a nap. The cottage is about a mile to Philpott Lake, the perfect place to fish , go out on a boat, or kayak. there are hiking trails near by.
