This private retreat is sited on the oceanfront with a spectacular panoramic ocean view, facing the famous "Entrance Island Lighthouse". Gabriola's iconic sunset beach (also famous for storm or whale watching) is just next door - LITERALLY it's on your doorstep! Direct private beach access from your front yard.

Youbou Lakehouse

Welcome to your lakefront oasis in Youbou, British Columbia. Designed as a place for friends and family to gather, the Youbou Lakehouse is a sanctuary where you can unwind and connect with the natural world. Enjoy private lake access, a stunning view, 2 outdoor fire pits, paddle boards, a gorgeous sauna, salt water hot tub, and a massive 85” TV with surround sound. Have fun, but no parties, and please choose another spot if you are unwilling to be considerate of our wonderful neighbors.

Large suite on main floor surrounded by nature with a private entrance, bathroom, living space, outdoor seating and shared outdoor hot tub. Located in a quiet neighbourhood with forest view through every window. It is a 3 min. drive to our village centre, ferry, trails, coffee shops, pub and restaurants. No longer serving breakfast. Also another suite for 2 people available to rent. Register correct pet and guests numbers when booking. Please check with host before bringing a pet.

South facing, sheltered from most of the wind, walk-on oceanfront in the city! Large deck, Solarium, Hot-tub, Kayaks and stunning views (Brandon Islands, Newcastle Island Provincial Park, Birds, Seals, Otters, Boats, Fisheries Canada docks). Swim, Paddle board, Kayak, Beach comb, Picnic or just relax - beside the salt water and a patch of old forest. Nanaimo is centrally located, permitting day trips to Vancover, Victoria and even Tofino. Luke (myself) reside in the suite.

Each cabin is clad in natural and charred cedar and is blended into the sword ferns, cedar, hemlock and fir trees that surround it. Relm Cottage - quiet beach on a secluded bay

Permit issued from the Islands Trust for this listing for short term vacation rentals. Provincial registration number obtained and valid. Lovely three bedroom cottage on the ocean with private beach access. Sleeps 6 comfortably in 3 bedrooms. Fully fenced side yard, dogs negotiable. Features a full kitchen inside, outhouse, outdoor shower, fire pit, covered porch & access to pebble beach trails, making this a magical retreat. Please note that while there is wi-fi at the cabin, there is no cell reception on the property, and many guests have mentioned that they’ve enjoyed the chance to unplug and connect with nature.

The Hideout

We have updated The Hideout and look forward to welcoming the world back at the end of summer 2025!! The Hideout grew from a vision we had when we moved to the Coast in 2020. With the desire to share our dream of living amongst the trees, tucked away from the world, The Hideout was created. Wrapped in hand milled cedar, fir and hemlock this space was designed to remind us to slow down, breathe deep and take it all in.
