Riverwood Hideaway

This off-grid, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. The cabin itself is loaded with comfort. A full kitchen, propane refrigerator, solar powered lights and a gas fireplace/furnace offer the conveniences of home. There is an outhouse and firewood for the outdoor firepit. You will have to bring your own water for drinking, but we provide hand and dish washing water at the sink. We have coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices.

This is a special neighborhood within the oldest section of Grand Marais. This was a property that was in the same family for generations, and now it is newly developed by the celebrated Minnesota Nordic architect David Salmela from Duluth. Pull in, park your car in the protected carport with it's green roof, and leave your keys on the counter- you won't need them again unless you are voyaging up the Gunflint Trail or to some of the more distant attractions. Mökki Kadunce River Cabin

The cabin is located next to the Kadunce River and directly across the highway from the shores of Lake Superior where the beach is a nice mix of sand and small pebbles. Perfect for your own private agate hunting, stargazing, catching a sunrise, or jumping in for an invigorating swim after your sauna. Nestled in mature spruce, this cozy timber and log cabin with wrap-around windows is surrounded by towering pines and a beautiful forest floor – keep an eye out for the deer as they stroll by.
