Come relax and unwind on Great Barrier Island in the best location, centered in Tryphena. Our home is just a 5 minute walk away from a few gorgeous beaches, Pah beach & Gooseberry Flat. The Pah Beach Cafe, the Currach (the Irish pub), and the Stonewall store are a 3 min walk away. The wharf where the Sealink car ferry docks is also close by car. Our home has been renovated with a new solar system, gas heater, blinds, beds, lighting, oven, water heater, paint, dishwasher, upgraded deck & more.

Wharerama is as central as you can get on the island, whilst also being a private hilltop sanctuary.

A 'Kiwi As' family Bach. Two bedrooms, living and dining room with a pot belly to keep things warm for winter. Kitchen has an oven and stove top and fridge/freezer. The bathroom has an excellent shower. Solar panels operate the lights and water pump, otherwise there is no electricity. Phone reception is great for vodaphone, and on the deck for spark. Modern beachhouse; great for families and small groups. House is located in center of Medlands Beach with the actual beach an easy 1 minute from the house. Spacious living. Pleasant grounds. Has two large outdoor decks so shelter from wind is always available. Can sleep up to six with a large main bedroom, a bunkroom and a second lounge that can double as sleeping. Runs from solar power and gas for cooking and hot water. An outdoor shower is available.

The Whaler's Cottage Great Barrier Island

Superbly located on Harpoon Hill, Whangaparapara and 15 min from Claris Village and Airport, the Whaler’s Cottage is a unique property in a magical setting. Hidden down a long driveway and surrounded by native bush, you will be greeted by a chorus of native bird life and views of the harbour. The cottage can also be accessed via a rugged track from Whangaparapara Wharf. A short walk leads you up to the house.

Great Barrier Island Beach property

It has it's very own beach, with streams and a historic Maori Pa site which was in constant use before the 'Treaty of Waitangi'. The house was modernised in the 1990's and has been recently upgraded to include a new fridge & stove. It's right on the beach and enjoys all day sun. There's a caretaker who will open up the house and ensure all is running well prior to your stay (and is contactable during your stay).
