Forge Cottage

We have recently updated this cottage ---- with a new kitchen with a proper hob and oven, and also replaced all the windows and even the front door ! The Forge cottage is set on our working sheep farm, on the Durham Northumberland border. Ideal for couples, or people traveling on their own, the cottage is a great location for local attractions such as Beamish Museum, Durham, Newcastle, Kilhope lead mining museum etc., but it's also great for those looking for peace and quiet and country walks !!

Old Stables Wylam -Walks & Village at its doorstep

Countryside location, 100m from village main street with local pubs, shops and restaurants. 15-20 mins from Newcastle, Bus stop 50m away, Train station 10mins walk. Recently refurbished the Old Stables at The Brow is a spacious stone built 2 bedroom (1 twin, 1 kingsize) flat with sofa bed, travelcot & offstreet parking. Multipurpose set up for those travelling with kids, enjoying the countryside, walks, golf, cycling or visiting the city. We live next door so can help with most arrangements.

Situated in woodland and fields is a small c18th farm with a beautiful light open-plan Cottage and spectacular views of National Trust Gibside and the Column to Liberty. Wild swimming, cycling and endless walks lie just beyond its gate. One of five dwellings, the Cottage has a private entrance and exclusive use of a small south-facing garden. Night skies are spectacular and often punctuated with calling owls and the rustle of hedgehogs & badgers. Bird spotting and fishing is another delight.

The diner/kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher. A spacious utility room holds a washing machine, tumble dryer and even a downstairs WC! To the rear there is a secure yard with countryside views and a seating area for summer evenings. Pet and child friendly, so bring all the family!

This little oasis of green is in a super handy location on the edge of the greenbelt, yet near the Team Valley, Metrocentre and Newcastle. There's a bus stop directly outside, with buses into central Newcastle every 30min in the day. Watergate Forest Park is right next door, with a fantastic cafe, lake, swans & lots of other wildlife. We're only a couple of miles from the C2C cycle route, with easy access to lots of other cycle routes & walks.

The Oaks

The Oaks is attached to our home. It has its own private entrance from the outside and internal doors are locked. It is an ensuite room set out like a hotel room. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS OUR FAMILY HOME AND IS NOT SUITED FOR A ROMANTIC/ PASSIONATE NIGHT AWAY BUT FOR GUESTS WANTING A PEACEFUL GETAWAY.. Wooden stairs lead up to this first floor bedroom that has its own decked area with outside furniture to enjoy the fantastic views.

The Gosforth Retreat

This self contained set up is ideal for those working in the area or for singles or couples wanting an overnight stay for a reasonable price in Newcastle. Located just off the A1 to the north of the city, it is situated in a quiet residential family area and has ample free street parking nearby. Consisting a large double bedroom, a kitchenette with basic cooking facilities and a large bathroom with bath and separate shower.
