VH was very volcanic and People have lived here for 10,000 years cowboys , Comanche indians,Buffalo Soldiers,49rs, and Chinese that built the railway. From 1600 till 1849 the only way to get to California was through VH and is truly the Wild West. "Longhorn Casita" - Pet Friendly Space w/ Kitchen

Cozy and private, the Longhorn Casita is a quaint 1950s guest house that's been recently renovated for a fresh, clean feel. Pet friendly, the back door with dog door opens to the small fenced dog yard. The vintage kitchen is fully stocked with all the needed equipment and cooking basics. At bedtime, there is room for 2 adults in the queen bed and if you don't need complete privacy (there is no door to the bedroom) 2 kids can sleep in the living room on the pull out chairs that become cots.

It features four comfortable shaded porches from which you can take in the sunrise, unwind at sunset, and gaze at brilliant stars in the heart of the world's largest Dark Sky Preserve. For all its privacy, the Rock House is conveniently located minutes from downtown Fort Davis and less than 30 minutes from Marfa and Alpine.

Recently renovated 100 year old Adobe house with views of Sleeping Lion Mountain. Located in the heart of Fort Davis on a quiet side street just three blocks from State Street, Agave House was completely renovated in 2021. Featuring original art, the interior is contemporary with Santa Fe influences, featuring vaulted beamed ceilings in the living room as well as a wood burning fireplace. The well equipped kitchen is all new. The main bath includes a large shower and claw foot tub.

Texas Roadhouse Mountain Lodge

We sit on Dolores Mountain overlooking the Chihuahuan desert. U must like a little dust, stars and dirt roads to like The Roadhouse .There’s no other place quite like it that looks over the desert and to the mountains beyond. We are in the country and on a dirt road yet only 1 mile from the beautiful downtown Fort Davis, The Fort and restaurants. Please look at the astrophotography pictures taken from our property. It is the bottom cabin as our personal cabin is the top cabin.

Casita on Arabella Mountain

Guest (studio) casita located on Arabella Mtn. in Limpia Crossing, 9 miles from Fort Davis and 8 miles from McDonald Observatory. Cools mornings, pleasant afternoons. The casita has everything you need to get away from it all. Sleep in or have early coffee and watch the wildlife. One can choose to have dinner in town or cook and have a quiet dinner in the casita. Star gazing is beautiful here in the Davis Mountains.

Deep in the Davis Mountains, our Cactus Flower Cabin sits on 18 secluded acres, just 18 miles from downtown Fort Davis. Breathe in the crisp mountain air and let your worries fade. Tiny Getaway

You won’t forget your time in this romantic, memorable place. Private driveway and extremely quiet. Right in the middle of town, but you’ll never know it. This tiny house is down an alley on the backside of our property also used by the deer going through town, but don’t worry they’re more afraid of you than you are of them. The inside has a touch of old with comfort of new.
