Laughing Horse Lodge - Animal friendly in Waipu

Positioned high in the hills above Waipu Cove, we offer a tranquil and modern animal-friendly base in historic Waipu, close to the beaches and town. The perfect spot to explore sunny Northland. Equestrians, you can arrange to bring your horse, ride in our arena or on nearby stunning Uretiti beach. If you'd like to bring your friendly dog, we can accommodate your furry friends. Our location is very quiet: no traffic noise, just the occasional sound of surf and birds. Not just for horse lovers.

Kauri Lodge -Luxury waterfront

Kauri Lodge is perched on the edge of the cliffs at Pouto, offering breathtaking views of Kaipara Harbour. Secluded and private, it's the perfect retreat for a romantic getaway. Unwind, relax, and immerse yourself in the peaceful serenity of Kaipara. Curl up with a book, enjoy a board game, or lounge on the deck, soaking up the sun and stunning surroundings. As night falls, recline in the hot tub with a glass of wine, stargaze, or drift off to sleep as the moonlight dances over the harbour.

Tara Valley Cabin

A boutique, sun-drenched and special hideaway set on 5 acres of permaculture tranquility. Your own three private cabins are nestled near 800 year old trees and joined with decks and pathways for you to wander and discover your bath. The bedroom opens out to a covered deck, and the full kitchen has a covered area with a large outdoor dining table and gas BBQ. Up the steps to the bathroom with a fresh, waterless, European electric toilet. Close to nature, beaches, markets, walks, cafes and fun.

Original 1920s Baylys Beach Bach (max 3 guests)

Our lovely 1920s Bach is a one-minute walk from the beach which is over 100kms long. With quirky character & few mod-cons this is a place to be away from the TV, rest up & enjoy stunning nature on the doorstep. We have kept as many original features as possible, so you get to experience a traditional Kiwi holiday - with a few added comforts. We are dog friendly - check the house rules. Fibre WIFI very efficient. BBQ available. Maximum guest number is 3 including children/infants/babies.

Everything you'd want to do on holiday is on your doorstep. Makai Lodge is a modern 2 bdrm apartment with a 180deg view.

It is a modern, spacious and Self catering A two day booking is required on Public weekend holidays and 25th-26th December A 4 day booking from the 30th Dec to 2nd January We do not do couch surfing .. as they say

We have an airbed and additional bedding available if there are 3 guests. We also have a portacot available.

Kukupa Cottage

Kukupa cottage is a three year old cottage on the top of a hill overlooking Kowharewa bay. It is on a piece of lovely land that has another house next door but is very private. It is lovely and warm with everything you need for a winter getaway. In the summer it gets all day sun that needs to be blocked but there are blinds along the front which you may need some of the time. There is a lovely wooden deck at the front also, with a roll out awning.
