Located in Hatatsu-cho, Imari City, Saga Prefecture, just a 70-minute drive from Fukuoka Airport and Hakata Station. The town is surrounded by the beauty of the seasons, with countless uninhabited islands in Imari Bay, including Iroha Island, and the surrounding mountains. In this nature-rich harbor town, "SHACHIHOKO" opened its doors in 2024.

Elegant Countryside Estate with Spacious Comfort

The Itokuro Estate is a historic Edo-era home built over 200 years ago. Newly renovated, it blends modern comfort with traditional Japanese architecture. Yumi and Yasumichi, the on-site caretakers, live in a separate area and do not share any living spaces or bathrooms with guests. They are available to assist guests and provide transportation to/from the local train station. Bicycles are available for the guests to explore the beautiful beaches and countryside of Itoshima.

The 130-year-old Villa Kaede, originally built as a guest house by a founder of Arita Bank, has been beautifully renovated. Visitors can enjoy a garden that showcases the changing seasons. The villa also serves as a convenient base for day trips to places like Nagasaki City, Unzen, Ureshino, Sasebo, Hirado, and Huis Ten Bosch.

Akizuki Kayabuki Kominka

A renovated Edo period thatched roof house, formerly a “prison” for samurai-engineers who failed to build a stone bridge (the current “Meganebashi”) and were imprisoned until they completed the job. The building is protected under the historical buildings act, and the craftsment who worked on the straw-roof have worked on UNESCO registered buildings throughout the Japan.
