Relax and enjoy the ebb and flow of the tide overlooking Croagh Bay located just inside the iconic Fastnet Lighthouse. Situated a 10 minute (10km) drive from Schull the location is ideal to immerse yourself in all the sea and the Wild Atlantic Way has to offer (swimming, kayaking, fishing, sailing) and enjoy the West Cork walking trails, including Barleycove Beach and Mizen Head.

Rebecca"s farm shop and cafe is a 5 minute walk. Vibrant farmers markets and the many restaurants in this area celebrate the wonderful local produce from land and sea.

For small families the sofa in the sitting room converts into a comfortable single bed. We are situated on the Beara Peninsula, just up the road from Helen's Bar in Kilmackilogue. Our Shepherds Hut called The Bothy, overlooks the sea, and is three minutes walk to the beach. Enjoy nature at its best with views of Kenmare Bay and its surrounding mountains. It is a hikers paradise, lying just off 'The Beara Way' . Cyclists will also be in their element with The Healy Pass a few kilometres away. Kenmare is half an hour away with wonderful shops and restaurants.

We have been voted as one of Ireland’s top 50 places to stay by the Irish Independent #Fab50 ( number 26 :)) We spent two years renovating this 200 year old building. In May 2020, it featured on RTE Home of the year and became a finalist in the top 7 homes in Ireland. Irish lights built all 76 lighthouses & keepers houses in Ireland, and this is the only lighthouse keepers house in a town in Ireland!
