This OFF-GRID, solar powered hideaway is on the Knife River just a few miles outside of Two Harbors, Minnesota. THERE IS NO RUNNING WATER and LIMITED ELECTRICITY. WE DO HAVE WI-FI. The kitchen has a propane refrigerator and gas oven/stove. Solar power is used for lights and some outlets. Propane fireplace / furnace for heat. The "bathroom" is an outhouse. You bring jugs of drinking water. Hand and dish wash water provided. We supply coffee with pour over utensils, dishes, spices and firewood.

Enjoy a luxurious bathroom, with a heated tile floor, walk-in shower. Towels, shampoo/conditioner/bodywash are provided. King bed in loft and NEW king gel memory foam bed on main floor. Smart TV, wi-fi. Woodstove heats the cabin perfectly as the main heat source. All wood is provided for woodstove and firepit. There is a minisplit heat/ac unit.

Privacy abounds with over 7.5-acres featuring a babbling creek, winding path through towering trees, and over 200' of shoreline. Built in 1955, the cottage has been meticulously renovated, inside and out, to highlight original features and the exceptional surroundings. Take your pups swimming in the lake, enjoy a backyard bonfire, venture out for seasonal activities, or stay in and admire the views!

Relax with expansive views of Lake Superior as you bask in the glow of the wood burning fireplace's radiance. Waves echoing off the brownstone cliff upon which this special home is perched, absorb the splendor of bald eagles soaring only feet away. Minutes from your nest is Meyer's Beach, the common entry point to begin your kayak or hiking excursion to the sea and ice caves of this, the greatest of all lakes. This cabin was built for family gatherings and a recreational retreat and has been in the family for years. We offer a place to sleep 4 with a pull-out couch, full kitchen, bar area, dining table and a small bathroom with a shower and sink. We also have an outside hydrant to rinse off your equipment or clean your fish and game. Be on the lookout for Moose, Deer, Bear, Fox, Grouse, and many of birds and listen for an occasional Timber Wolf in the night. Trailer parking is onsite.
