Hosts live on upper floors. Lower level, private suite (stair access) has been designed and decorated for you. It features a living room with gas fireplace, bedroom, and bathroom. Next to St.Olaf college, 1 mile to Carleton and downtown, steps from the Ole Store Cafe. Our house is surrounded by trees, perennial gardens, and adjoins the St. Olaf athletic fields. Unfortunately, this space is not suitable for young children. Also, the stairs may be difficult for someone with physical limitations.

The Corn Crib Cottage Barn or Villa is a luxurious and rustic 1100 square foot space. The Corn Crib originally used to dry corn and animal housing. This is a very rare historical building built in the 1920's The villa has a 2 person whirlpool jacuzzi , rain shower, beautiful full kitchen, fireplace and next to the 550 acre Washington County Cottage Grove Ravine regional park reserve. This lower level 1 bedroom guest apartment is located in a single family home on a quiet street. It is a split entry home w/ the Airbnb apartment door at the base of the steps & the owners' door at the top level of the stairs. The apartment (1,200 sq ft) features cozy furnishings; a spacious living room w/ a pull out queen bed, gas fireplace & TV; and a small kitchen w/ a Keurig coffee maker, toaster, mini fridge, stove/oven & microwave. The bedroom includes a queen bed & its own TV.

It is located on one of Northfield's most beautiful and historical streets and just a short walk from the beautiful campus of St. Olaf College. THIS IS NOT the whole home, but is the entire lower level, which feels like one of the units in a duplex. Cabinesque, roomy, close to almost anything you would need, cozy- these are a few words to describe it. You have your own private locked entrance from the garage, where you can park. The door between the levels is locked. This space boasts a gorgeous, new bathroom, new kitchen, huge flat screen tv, 2 large bedrooms, with the dining room and living room connected.

Hygge House | A Cozy Guesthouse

The Hygge (pronounced hyoo·guh) House is a tiny taste of Scandinavia in Southeastern Minnesota. What is Hygge? In short, it's a Scandinavian way of living that focuses on hunkering down and creating a safe, comforting and warm place to while away. My husband and I hand built the Hygge House with your comfort in mind. We love being cozy and having space to spend together so when the opportunity arose to renovate our studio, we wanted to share it!
