Nestled in the mountains of Nagano at an elevation of 860 meters (2,821 feet), this is a luxury home exclusively for those who want to escape tourist traps, experience a side of Japan rarely seen by outsiders, and do it in style. Our 3-bedroom home is 200 sq. meters (2153 sq. feet) large and is a marriage between traditional Japanese architecture and modern technology and comfort. The home is accessible from Tokyo and other major cities via the Shinkansen bullet train or Joshin-etsu Expressway.

Our 130 year-old traditional Japanese house has been renovated for your comfort while holding onto its history. Renewed as a duplex house! There are a lot of amazing restaurants, spas, souvenir shops, all in walking distance. “KOMINKA” has living room, dining room, kitchen, bath, and two toilets on 1st floor, and 3 Japanese style bed rooms on 2nd floor. *You can always take a free bus ride to all the ski areas from Echigoyuzawa station.

THE HUT was built with western red cedar , you will notice the beautiful smell of cedar when you walk in to THE HUT . It is great for families with children, 2 couples or a group of friends.

I renovated this house to comfortable satying. If you will travel with your own car (incl rental car) , to stay this house is one of the good choice. This house is located between Karuizawa and Matsumoto Castle. ---About 60minutes to both places by car. Also close to Shinkansen Station "Sakudaira" and "Ueda" ---About 30minutes to both station by car. Very close to Supermarket, Convenience store, Onsen (japaese hot springs), and local restaruant.

This Solar Energy House is in the quiet residential area 3-minutes-walk from Zenkoji-Temple. It's very comfortable, using natural material insulators.
