Sesmarias Mel is a traditional “Alentejana” style home located amongst the gorgeous rolling hills of the Alentejo region. The 90 ha property is situated just outside the quaint village of Cercal do Alentejo and is surrounded by the meadows and ancient cork-oak trees that are iconic to this part of Portugal. The tracks that pass the property and lead into the scenic surroundings provide ample opportunities for hiking/biking, and the beautiful beaches of the Alentejan Coast are a short drive away.

Van hieruit kan je gemakkelijk de Alentejo regio ontdekken. De natuur, dorpjes, stranden, wandel- en fietspaden, het eten... Of je kan genieten van onze kleine boerderij, het pijnbomen bosje waar het zalig is om te verkoelen tijdens warme zomerdagen. Op koudere dagen of avonden steken wij met veel plezier de houtgestookte hottub aan!

This design focused tiny home is on a 105ha farm 10 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Porto Covo, with a private lake. So close to the beach, and with all the charm of the Alentejo countryside. A large deck opens from the kitchen and living room, with outdoor seating, and another sunset deck with an outdoor bath. Inside you will find a fully functioning kitchen, bathroom, a double bed and a mezzanine up the ladder with another double bed. Perfect for a romantic weekend or a family getaway.

The Dome is nestled in nature, away from the main house and other guests for complete privacy, and provides ample opportunity for personal reflection, meditation, yoga, hiking, or simply kicking back with a good book. The Dome is spacious, has a private bucket shower and compost toilet, while other modern conveniences, such as Wi-Fi, electricity, hot shower and a fully equipped kitchen, are available on the other hill.

Our home is an agricultural cottage renovated into an open plan loft with 3 bedrooms (2 in mezzanine open style/no privacy/no tall people) located in the traditional Alentejo hills and 30min drive from beaches and surf schools of the Vicentina Coast. The village of Cercal is 10 min drive away. We both grew up in the area since babies and therefore we love coming here throughout the year. Having this 'monte' is a refuge for us which we enjoy to connect with nature and the sea.

Ride on our bikes and enjoy the pool and barbecue in the summer or the comfort of the salamander in the winter.
