While in a neighborhood in the town, out our doorstep, the Cowlitz River is a three minute walk. Enjoy sitting next to the wood stove after a hike up in the national park, grab a board game - lounge! Packwood is at the intersection of US HWY 12 and Gifford Pinchot Nat Forest Rd 52. Home to a brewery, coffeeshop, burger stand, tattoo artist, dive bar and more!

The Cowlitz River Cottage- a tiny house retreat

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The Cowlitz River Cottage is perfectly situated to explore the best of Pacific North West mountain life. Easy access to White Pass Ski Area (20 min), and Mt. Rainier National Park (Stevens Canyon Entrance, 17 min). Golfing and swimming pool just a mile away for the warm summer days. Escape to the mountains at The Pinecone Cabin in the Woods. Enjoy this unique and tranquil getaway. One bedroom cabin provides many amenities in a small space. Great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Easy access to Mt. Rainier, 25 min. to the ski resort, close to Mt St Helens. Great home base to explore the PNW. Early check-in at 1:00pm/Late check-out at 12:00pm. We allow 2 dogs for a fee, tell us if bringing your fur babies. Can book with the Hemlock House for groups up to ten people.

Historical White Pass Ticket Booth Packwood

This is the original White Pass Ski Resort ticket booth, then lifty shack, and finally wax room, built in the 1950's, when White Pass first opened. It became somewhat run down and put out of service, but was rescued by a Packwoodian with vision. It was hauled down from White Pass on a flatbed truck, where it was given a new metal roof, insulation, rough-hewn cedar and corrugated metal interior walls. With log bunkbeds, rocking chairs, cozy blankets, it's a snug abode for skiers and hikers!
