The Canal Room sits upstairs within Ratho Park Steading: a stunning Scottish courtyard stable (built 1826; converted 2021). It borders Ratho Park Golf club (area of outstanding beauty), a walk from the heart of Ratho village, 8miles from Edinburgh centre. The large room is stylishly furnished (super king size bed), tv/wifi, and heated through ground source. The property has off-road parking with use of/ views into a landscaped garden/canal. Breakfast is a cold self-served buffet in the 'Den'.

We're close to the medieval town and beaches of St Andrews - just 2 miles from the centre, so you can cycle/walk as well as drive. You’ll love our place because of its quiet location on a country estate: from here you can walk, golf, sightsee, in winter go up and ski at Glenshee; head to Edinburgh (1hr by train) and Glasgow, eat in fabulous restaurants or stay and cook in our well-equipped kitchen. Wee Wilds is a practical home base in the Highlands. We offer a shelter from the wild rather than a hotel experience. You get a cosy Double Room in our family home with access to shared social spaces. The kitchen is the heart of the house. Most mornings you can watch red squirrels right at the window while you grab a coffee and some of our fresh homemade bread. It is a wee bit wild but very warm and welcoming. A car is recommended, but you can also cycle or walk here.

Unspoilt views of the glen are a feature, as is the nearby River Ardle, with the popular walkers' Cateran Trail close by.

The Stable - Dumbain Farm

Accommodation is offered in the simple and stylish conversion of the farm outbuildings. Situated two minutes from Balloch in a quiet and peaceful location. A continental breakfast is left in the fridge for you to prepare including: muesli, bread, milk, orange juice, cheese, oatcakes, fruit, jam, shortbread, ground coffee and a selection of teas.
