During the day you can watch the tidal changes bring you both golden sandy beaches with rock pools & a pebbled beach front to explore. The area is family & dog friendly. As well as relaxing on the beach front, you can also enjoy: visiting the Lake District, fishing & more, England's coast path is also on your doorstep.

The Sea Cubby, Private Holiday Lodge, Portling.

The Sea Cubby is a unique wee holiday lodge overlooking the Solway Firth. It is perched just above the waves with the most beautiful views across Portling Bay to the white sands of Merse Head nature reserve. The Lodge is not in a holiday park it stands alone with it's own private driveway, parking and garden. It’s so quiet, a retreat to escape and relax, by sitting watching and listening to the waves. The Lodge has a large glass roofed deck. Well behaved dogs are considered, please ask first.

An ideal base for exploring the Western Lake District and Cumbrian Coast. It is surrounded by scenic walks and activities. It is close to St Bees coast to coast walk too. Kippford is perfect for a holiday with its wonderful views and dramatic sunsets. There are miles of walks in forests, along cliff paths and on local footpaths. The Old Post Office is a lovely modern front line self catering property built in 2003 with stunning views over the estuary.

Seaview, Family friendly, open plan living, seaside bungalow. 2 minutes from the beach with views across the Solway. We are a family of 5 and were always struggling to go on holiday as most hotel rooms are for 4 people. We really wanted somewhere we could go that could accommodate us all.
