Historic Amish homestead Barn loft apartment

The Nicholas Stoltzfus Homestead is the oldest restored Amish property in Berks County, bought by Immigrant Nicholas Stoltzfus (ancestor of all Stoltzfus descendants in America) in 1771. You will be staying in a peaceful and cozy barn loft apartment with a private entrance beside the stone house. You can enjoy the flower gardens and birds as you sip a cup of coffee that was roasted on site. Adjacent to the property is the Union Canal Towpath on the Tulpehocken Creek.

We are located in the Center Park Historic District of Reading. Quaint, 1-bedroom, cottage built as a summer kitchen for the original farmhouse in 1740. First floor is an open concept with new appliances in the kitchen and a cozy living area with loveseat and dining table. Tucked into the woods of the Texter Mountain, our little home is a custom built modern getaway. Its beautiful timber framework, high steel beams for suspension, and glass front makes for the perfect retreat. We created this space as a place to be refreshed and rejuvenated and we hope it is all that, and more!
