Swinburne Castle is perfectly situated within its own beautiful parkland and gardens. Traditionally decorated, parts of the house have tremendous history dating back to the 12th century. The east wing is extremely comfortable and private, and don't be perturbed by the stone steps leading down to the vaulted cellar. A delicious continental breakfast will be provided in your rooms. We welcome up to two well behaved dogs. We are striving to make the accommodation accessible so that everyone can enjoy the wonderful area we call home. We currently have one accessible glamping pod on site 'Dragonfly' with a Shepherds Hut now available. We are sure that you will have a memorable stay and book in again!

The cottage was previously owned by the Armstrong family owners of Craigside and Bambrugh Castle. In the past its been a post office and a sweet shop. Fully refurbished to a high standard to provide guests with a luxurious relaxing stay. Close to all of the Northumberland Coastal and Country favourites as well as some secret ones. Perfect for hill walking, running or cycling.

It is featured in the Village trail leaflet as 'state of the art' workers' housing of the time! Tucked away from the Village centre down a quiet private path Ethie Lodge is deceptively spacious.
