This modern backyard cottage is tucked away in a private setting, yet steps away from everything this hip neighborhood has to offer. Custom designed and hand-built by the hosts, this backyard cottage is a sanctuary in the city. After a day of exploring nearby beaches, beautiful parks, kayaking the sound or eating your way through the Farmer’s Market, come home and unwind on the private deck. Free street parking! A short walk to lots of restaurants, coffee shops, Whole Foods & Trader Joe’s. Finished in 2016, this new, custom-built studio cottage is tucked away in a private setting. The 400 sq. ft. craftsman style space is thoughtfully designed to incorporate natural daylight through large windows and high pine wood cathedral ceilings. The tasteful, modern craftsman interior creates a cozy home away from home and offers all you need for an overnight or an extended stay. Your fully equipped kitchen offers quartz countertops, a sink with Grohe faucet, petite 4-burner stove with oven, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, Keurig coffee maker (coffee provided!), and everything you need to prepare meals, if you prefer to eat in. You'll sleep comfortably in the queen sized bed with new memory foam mattress and enjoy a full bathroom with a brand new tiled shower/tub. A CB2 Flex Full-size Sleeper Sofa (rated best sleeper sofa by Apartment Therapy) can accommodate another guest. Your cottage is set back from the street in our private backyard, atop our garage (not parked in, and rarely opened), surrounded by trees and a greenbelt behind our house. It is designed to be eco-friendly with SIP panels, LED lighting, heat pump water heater and radiant floor heating. Serene, healthy, and beautiful - and close to everything! It's perfect for out of town guests, vacationers, a staycation, or business travelers. You have the benefit of a completely private space above our detached garage with full 24-hour access, free on-street parking, and a private entrance. There are 12 stairs from the driveway to the cottage, which is a second story unit. Fresh sheets and towels are provided for longer visits, upon request. Privacy is all yours, though we're happy to help you with navigate our neighborhood and Seattle, and provide recommendations if desired. West Seattle is a sought-after neighborhood that is perfect for foodies, shoppers, families, adventurers, outdoor lovers and those visiting the city and the great Pacific Northwest--and only a 10-15 minute drive from downtown! Visit famous Alki Beach & take a walk along Lincoln Park. Walk to one of our many locally owned coffee shops, or pick up some fresh flowers or artisan made goodies on Sundays at the local Farmer's Market. Enjoy one of our many delicious restaurants. The cottage is so walkable! Your cottage is very close to the Metro city bus lines (1-3 blocks depending on what # bus) which provides easy access to hot spots like West Seattle’s own Alki Beach, a sandy Puget Sound beach with a walking/bike path, paddle boarding, canoes, and numerous eateries and coffeehouses, or beautifully wooded Lincoln Park with walking trails and huge native trees. Or zip downtown Seattle (10-15 minutes by car, 20 minutes by bus) to the take in the Waterfront, Pike Place Market, retail shopping, music venues, Seattle Center and the Space Needle, Washington State Convention Center, Starbucks headquarters, Seattle Art Museum and Pioneer Square art galleries, Safeco Field (baseball), CenturyLink Field (football), or a Washington State Ferry and much more. Light rail is also available to and from SeaTac airport with one bus transfer. You can also access Car2Go in Seattle if you have a membership. Street parking is free for Car2Go anywhere in the city. We have plenty of free street parking on our street for a vehicle or rental car. We are eager to welcome you to your cottage and enjoy the benefits of meeting new people from near and far. We are Northwest natives and college sweethearts, who have lived and traveled internationally. Now, we reside in Seattle, working to better our world through a child-focused international relief & development organization, and engineering for energy efficiency of our natural resources. Bright Basement Apartment w/ Private Patio, Grill

Wake up feeling recharged in this open-plan and cozy apartment ideal for lounging. Experience a private retreat just minutes from the city with a contemporary design interior, a private backyard BBQ area, and an outdoor dining space. There is one queen bed that comfortably fits two, and a couch that’s perfect for a small adult or kid. We also have a pack’n play available for babies, and an air mattress for a third guest. We have a three year old so there’s a good chance you will hear him up upstairs :) Amazingly bright one bedroom one bath basement unit that has been remodeled with a modern design. Over 700 sq ft of living space with 200 sq ft of storage and laundry area. The unit is the bottom floor of our home and has its own entrance and washer dryer, no sharing or quarters required! High ceilings for a daylight basement, if you are under 6'9" you are good to go. Huge windows that face the south and east. You can actually see a small section of the cascades range from the living room window. New, functional kitchen space has been totally redesigned. Bathroom has also been completely redone. Modern tiled shower/bath with a european style shower rod. Comes with your own outdoor space, gas grill, table and chairs. Street parking is always available, no zones to deal with. The address scores a walkability rating of 88 'Very Walkable" on Walkscore, with bus routes 2, 8, 48 and 84 less than .2 miles away. This is a gem of an apartment, blocks from capitol hill yet nice and quiet. Our cats love visiting if you're into that. Lots more photos. Guests will have access to the bottom floor of our home as well as the laundry room and designated area outside (grilling and patio area) If you need anything at all, shoot us a text and we will address the issue ASAP. The house sits on a quiet street, right on the edge of the all action. Find coffee shops, bars, and restaurants within blocks. Capitol Hill is also just a quick 15-minute walk away from the property. You can always find a parking spot right out front. There are no parking restrictions on our street. Uber is also very convenient in our area, with pick up times often less than two minutes. Having your own outdoor space and gas grill are very unique for how close we are to capitol hill. Patio set seats 4

The Overwater Bungalow at Sundance

Beach homes are fun, but take things a step further and immerse yourself with 270-degree views of the fjord at this historic boat house. A secret passageway leads to a speak-easy-style bedroom, and then down to a private hot tub where you can soak while watching the sun set over Olympic National Park. Big Beef Spit is a five-minute walk away. A neighboring guest house and caretaker’s cottage are also both available for rent. **Please note that the loft bedroom gets chilly during cold weather.
