Great stay! In-house shuttle service was great for getting out for the day if you're going without a car. Didn't hear anything about the hot-tub while I was there so if that's important to you maybe make inquiries before booking but they are really close to multiple onsens so no shortage there.

Beautiful view within minutes to multiple ski resorts. We had a great stay!

We had a great stay at Winterfell. It’s warm, very clean and has a well appointed kitchen which made the stay comfortable. We had 2 weeks there which meant we really got to know the hosts. Alex provided us with great advice on where to go for day trips when the snow wasn’t as good as we wanted it to be. I would recommend having your own car, both for the road trips and just getting up and down the hill, out to the resorts or into town. Although the snow wasn’t as expected there were still some great days and all the facilities for drying and storing gear were more than adequate. A little more hanging space in the room would be good. Kate and Alex have rules for the property which are not unreasonable and help to keep the place very liveable. Don’t expect a raucous atmosphere, just lovely people in a lovely space.
