It is named after its last owner, Percy McPherson, whose family has farmed this beautiful piece of land since 1885. In the middle of a very private 700-acre property, the house is surrounded by rolling farmland and forest. Built on the top of one of the highest spots on PEI, Percy's offers one a spectacular view of Northumberland Straight and Nova Scotia. The Double Hill Cidery (operated by the same owners) is within walking distance for afternoon cocktails. Make yourself at home and take advantage of the generous interiors. The home has wooden floors and is decorated with Island-made furniture, antiques and original paintings. While having all the charms of Country living, Percy's has all the conveniences of a luxury home. All you have to do is unpack your bags, relax, and soak in the beauty. The property offers many possibilities for hiking or nature walks. In the yard are BBQ, lawn furniture and plenty of space for outside activities (bring your kites!). The small patch of wood next to the house gives cool shade in the heat of summer. Bring your binoculars and explore the view onto Northumberland Straight. The living room offers a panoramic southern view thanks to the closed-in porch with twelve large windows. With custom-built furniture and antiques, this room offers 600 square feet for you to enjoy. There is plenty of seating space in two separate areas, giving plenty of privacy for everyone. There is also a second dining room on the closed-in porch. Included are four full-size couches, a wood stove, and an armchair. Amenities include TV with streaming services. There is a variety of books for your reading pleasure. On rainy days we have all kinds of board games and puzzles. The gourmet kitchen features a row of windows to the east, allowing the sun to tickle you in the morning. Inside our kitchen area, you will find everything you'll need: professional pots and pans, ice cream maker, bread maker, pasta maker, toaster, coffee machine, kettle, and citrus press. The kitchen also has a double sink, oven, ceramic cooktop, full-sized fridge, and microwave. The kitchen also connects to a dining room complete with an eight-seat antique dining room table. The generous Master Bedroom features the same amazing view that can be seen from the living room. It has a queen bed, a large built-in wardrobe and a personal desk. Also upstairs is an extra children's room with a crib and two single beds. The room can also be used as an extra sitting/reading area. Across the hall from the Upstairs bedroom is a large bathroom with an antique clawfoot tub and a shower stall. Off of our living room, there is a western and eastern bedroom. The West Bedroom features a pencil post bed (double) and an antique dresser. On the opposite side, our East Bedroom features a sleigh bed (double) and a wardrobe, with a bathroom located just across the hall. Off the back of Percy Hill is a deck with a BBQ and outdoor table and plenty of seating, lounge chairs, and a fire pit.
