Quite an old-fashioned experience, in that it was very much a room in a shared, owner-occupied house. I was surprised there was no lock on the bedroom door. It's unfortunate that the flush on the toilet in the shared bathroom was broken for the duration of my week's stay. There was a loo downstairs which was usable though. I didn't get to meet the owner so had no introduction to use the kitchen or other shared spaces, and unfortunately there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.

The house is very comfortable to stay in and very quiet. I would still choose it if there was a next time.

Old stone house set on a hillside with Victorian sitting area and lovely view of Stirling Castle and Wallace Monument. About a mile walk or bike from the train station, and lots of local walking/hiking trails. Small-town that felt safe and friendly. Three miles from Stirling with greater amenities and historic attractions there. Was able to check in early, and though Ayman was away, he offered to give me a virtual tour of the house when I arrived. The house has several rooms with other guests, but is large enough to not feel cramped. There is a washing machine but no dryer at the house. The building is old and comes with typical old-house issues like creaky floors and loud pluming, but overall a nice place to stay. Very low cost for what you get with this Airbnb.
