We stayed with a large group of relatives with older family and young children and everyone had an wonderful time. Mary and John went above and beyond to cater for us. From extra beds and adding child gates and their son even lending us an Xbox haha. I sometimes felt guilty at how hard Mary worked to make our stay comfortable. Super grateful to the family for hosting us and being so welcoming, next time we return to Limerick we'd love to stay again.

This is a must-stay place for a family group visiting County Limerick and County Clare for the weekend or longer. The venue is destination-worthy in itself. It is historic, updated, well-maintained, unique and comfortable. The layout and size is perfect for gathering with the family while also enjoying moments of relaxing solitude. Topping it off, it is evident that the hosts - who are also the owners - care deeply about the property and their guests. We arrived to find a kitchen stocked with essentials, real fresh flower arrangements in the common areas, and supplies ready for a warm evening in front of a crackling fireplace. The rooms, grounds and common areas were clean and welcoming. In total, the experience was above and beyond what we expected, and we're so appreciative. When we return to Ireland, we will be sure to also return to Fanningstown Castle - if we're fortunate enough to find it available again!

For a group of 8 women who cook we had everything we needed, so well equipped with top quality cookware,cutlery & crockery.Great stock of towels & all bathrooms supplied with shampoo,shower gel & soap.Fire cleaned & stocked every morning, it was as near to perfect as you can get & we've stayed in a lot of places.We had a brilliant stay & Mary is just the best host,highly reccomend Fanningstown Castle..5 ⭐.

On our first trip to Ireland with a group of family and friends we couldn’t have picked a better place to stay to experience the Irish countryside. Location was great with equally easy access to both ring of Kerry and the cliff of Moher and other small picturesque towns nearby. The castle was exactly as described with perfect mix of medieval exterior but with modern amenities. It was more than big enough for the 8 of us. Living areas were warm and cozy and we really enjoyed drinking wine Mary had kindly provided (more on this later) by the fireplace while listening to the Christmas carols on Echo speakers. WiFi signal was only available near the kitchen area but perhaps it was for the better so we stay away from our phones 😆 Mary and her husband were very attentive. Was very quick to respond whenever problem arose. We really appreciated the welcome grocery package which was plenty for the 8 of us. All in all we had wonderful time staying here. We’d love to come back here someday

Can’t say enough great things about the castle and Mary our host. The castle was incredible, the pictures are totally accurate but don’t even do it justice. Mary was probably the best host I’ve ever stayed with, she met us on arrival, the place was spotless, beds made, she stocked the kitchen with bread, eggs, bacon, fruit, and she even put out flowers! This was a family trip for my parents 40th anniversary and we haven’t stopped talking about the castle since we got home. Mary also gave great recommendations for local activities and restaurants and even made us reservations at a local pub having a traditional Irish music night for our first night of the stay. Mary perfectly balanced being welcoming, helpful, and giving us privacy, she lives close by (off site) but was always available by message. Castle is very authentic but still has great amenities like washer/dryer, full kitchen, etc. Beautiful castle, amazing host, absolutely would stay there again if I ever get the chance!
