Welcome to our nature and art retreat in the Mauer district of Vienna! This home has been in our family since it was built in 1963 and was designed by renowned Austrian architect, Roland Reiner. For years my grandparents Margarette and Paul cared for the home and enjoyed the nearby nature. In this home we have had family gatherings, enjoyed art, and my mother was raised here from 6 years old. The house was recently renovated and re-furnished in July 2022. We recommend you take the 5 minute walk through the vineyards to the forest (for us, a morning ritual). On Saturdays, you can stroll through the forest for hours stopping at the Wiener Hütte (mid-hike eatery) or the Lanzier Tiergarten (zoo). There are many options for good food nearby. We get groceries at Denn’s Bio Markt, Billa or the Friday farmer’s market in Leising. Our restaurant favorites are getting takeout from traditional Napoli pizza (Il Rhione), Der Stasta, or eating at additional nearby eateries. The house is conveniently located with many public transit options, including the 254 and 60A to Leising and the 60 tram to Schonbrunn Palace, Hietzing, or Westbahnhof. Feel free to message us for many other recommendations. The house has two bedrooms. One has a queen bed and the other has a single which can pull out as a queen. We have all you’ll need for cooking in the spacious kitchen. You can dine indoors or outdoors in the garden with a beautiful view.
