Absolutely loved Karen’s castle. Was even more spacious than I thought from the pictures. If you love history and older architecture like I do and are looking for a homey castle this is the place for you. Karen is a wonderfully kind person who let us borrow one of her dogs for a night, had great local recommendations, and even gave my kids a toy they were fond of that they found in the castle. The grounds are beautiful and so is the surrounding town the castle is in. Very pretty and peaceful. Highly recommend.

Kilcolgan Castle was absolutely beautiful! The inside of the castle was beautiful and it was so peaceful and lovely to walk around the grounds. The kitchen was very clean and large, making it fun to cook at home or have coffee with our group that stayed there. It was a very quick taxi ride from the castle to Galway, and Karen was very gracious in offering local recommendations for food and drink. Thank you!!

This castle was such a unique stay! Pictures are accurate and Karen was very nice. She gave us a tour of the castle and we got to meet her dog. We felt taken back in time with the decor and set up of the castle. The grounds are beautiful and private, right on a river.

Kilcolgan Castle is the stay of a lifetime: scenic surroundings (being on the water was gorgeous!), carefully curated interior (so many cool antiques!), and comfortable living spaces (clean and cozy with great views from the bedrooms at the top of the tower). My family could not have been happier with our stay. Karen was quite attentive, offering a dinner reservation in town (which was excellent), breakfast items, and even to witness her dogs racing! She also took the time to suggest we visit a nearby ruin that was related to her property (it was totally cool!). The location was perfect too, close to Cong, the Cliffs of Moher, and more. We all agreed that we would stay here again if ever we get to go back Ireland. Kilcolgan Castle and Karen were fabulous.
