The Artists' Retreat was exactly as described, and was a haven for us in an already gorgeous place. Kathleen was communicative and helpful in the weeks leading up to our arrival, and during our stay, her partner, Richard, was accommodating, generous, and a font of knowledge about the neighborhood. The house was lovely and only short drive from the main road. Whether you are looking for a special place to spend intimate moments with yourself or a significant other, or you are looking for creative inspiration, the Artists' Retreat is the perfect venue. It is filled with framed views of the surroundings and comparable and original framed artwork from the hosts. We will certainly be back to spend time again with Kathleen and Richard, and soak in the nature that hugs the Artists' Retreat. Thanks!

We enjoyed staying at the Artist's Retreat - enough that we are planning to stay here again. The location is lovely. On the ridge above much of rhe fog, though enough reaches here for the iconic Spanish moss on trees and deck railings. The home also felt of the Point Reyes area, with a natural garden and artistic house. The house is light, clean and well maintained with some nice ammenities. Kathleen and Richard have produced many books on the area with beautiful photos and they were available on the coffee table to browse through. The road is steep but quiet and nice to walk to the dead end where there is access to trails. Private but convenient to beaches, trails and Point Reyes Station. Richard was doing host duty for our stay and was friendly and available when needed but not obtrusive. Good with our dog and had useful suggestions for hiking with her. Very comfortable stay.

This is a terrific space with great views. Kathleen was away but Richard was super friendly and helpful. They are well-known artists and we were lucky to get to see some of Richard's photography. Highly recommend this place.

Secluded very quite far drive up the hill, overall nice pace to stay if you want to be away from it all but about 10 min from pointe Reyes

Kathleen and Richard's lovely, peaceful "artists retreat" in Inverness was the ideal place for me to relax and rejuvenate for a couple of days. The house is exactly as pictured, with a large open living space and big picture windows with views that almost seem unreal they are so beautiful. I could've easily just stayed at the house all weekend, but I wanted to get out and spend some time hiking on the local trails and walking on local beaches. The area has an abundance of trails and beaches to explore , and then coming home to their beautiful space each evening was a gift. They live right next-door and are available anytime if you need them, yet also totally give you your privacy if that is what you prefer. Such a lovely couple (do check out their art and photography!!) and such a lovely spot. I would highly recommend the artists retreat if you're looking for a quiet, beautiful spot to relax and have a quiet getaway.
