Our 100 year old adobe farmhouse has seen generations of families raise their children and tend the grapevines of our vineyard. We totally remodeled and modernized it 4 years ago to provide a perfect family vacation rental when we are not enjoying our own stays! The house is fully furnished with everything needed for a comfortable stay and includes WiFi, DirecTV, outdoor dining areas and shared use of the huge pool and gardens. The recently refurbished adobe farmhouse now sleeps 7 adults comfortably, 3 in the principal bedroom and 2 on the divans next to the living area fireplace plus a second bedroom for 2. The house has a great room design with comfortable seating around the wood-burning fire place, and a large dining table. The newly designed open kitchen is comfortable for family cooking and shares the open ambience of the great room. Antique doors adjacent to the dining area open to the outdoor gallery, a shaded and furnished terrace which overlooks the huge garden and the pool which is perfect for alfresco meals. The entire décor reflects local craftsmanship in its artisan details, textiles and hand-made furniture. Guests share a large pool in the wooded garden park, and have a private outdoor grill next to the house. We are on hand at the property to welcome guests and provide information for activities in the area. We love the natural setting and spending time away from the pressures of city life. Guests who need more stimulation can easily visit nearby areas for extreme sports, hiking, fishing, golf, horseback riding and trekking. And of course, wine tasting at the world-class wineries. Public transport is at the highway, about a 15 minute walk, and runs hourly from early morning to evening hours into downtown San Rafael. We do recommend a car for your stay, easily rented at the airport or downtown. Check with the Tourism Department in San Rafael for activities, tours and maps
