Wonderfully cozy and modern home to stay in! Got sick shortly after arrival, and there were plenty of amenities to keep me comfortable during my recovery. The housekeeper is very sweet and thorough. The local contact was happy to help with any problems or questions. Quiet and cozy location with a neighborhood watch, and easily walkable location to the tram and local shops with an average fitness level. If you hail from countries with few bugs and this is your first visit to Mauritius, be aware that creatures such as house geckos, ants, flies or mosquitoes, and the occasional cockroach are par for the course almost anywhere on the island. There were a variety of effective bug and pest sprays available in the kitchen for those who are uncomfortable around the native wildlife. :) The only problem I had was being unable to reach the local contact to check out and had to leave a few hours later than planned, but Nadine helped me as soon as I reached out about this.

We stayed in Nadine’s place for three weeks. Pros - close to metro, quiet location, supermarket and restaurants within walking distance. Great washing and drying facilities. Plenty of sheets and towels. Cons - internet was not working from bedroom for the first few days - was told by Nadine’s cousin (who looks after the Airbnb) that they were aware of this. Frustrating this was not dealt with previously - had to spend an evening helping for it to be fixed. Toaster fuse blew on first use - was taken away for repair and not returned. Furniture could do with a massive upgrade. There were personal items in most cupboards so not much room to unpack. Front gate was also not working (again something they were aware of) so we ended up parking the car on the street incase the gate got stuck again. No space in kitchen for groceries so these all had to live on the work surface. Some of these small things could be rectified easily to make for a more comfortable stay.
