奥克兰 · 整套客用套房 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Deco garden delight - your home away from home
A bespoke, wood-lined garden (basement) apartment in an Art Deco home. This purpose-built space has an open-plan living area with a compact kitchen, a large sunny bedroom, and a separate bathroom. Please NOTE - there is no additional single bed available in the common room as per the listing - this is being corrected via Airbnb. The space is comfortable and stylish. It is self-contained and is suitable for both short and longer-term stays. The house is of the Art Deco period with some elements continuing through into the apartment. The large curved bay window in the bedroom overlooks an established cycad & succulent garden. The windows are mirrored for complete privacy and there are also floor-to-ceiling curtains for additional privacy and comfort in the bedroom. The living area has a two-seater daybed and wrap-around window seats with a dining table. The compact kitchen has a fridge, microwave, manufactured stone-topped workbench, and a single induction hob with an extractor hood. All crockery (flatware) & cutlery are supplied along with utensils and cooking equipment. There is also a toaster and an electric kettle. The apartment has 2 entrances; one to the living area and the other to the bedroom. Both open directly into a small private courtyard for your sole use. Guests are welcome to check in independently via the lockbox. We're only a text or phone call away & we'll check in after the first night to ensure everything is fine and that there are no issues. Mount Eden is an established suburb of Auckland and we are on the outskirts of it, near Three Kings. Mt Eden is named after the volcanic cone called Maungawhau in Maori. Just around the corner is the Three Kings Reserve which is another volcanic cone. It is the only remaining 'King' of the Three Kings, Te Tatua-o-Riukiuta [the girdle of Riukiuta] in Maori. Both Mt Eden and the Three Kings Reserve are within walking distance (35 mins and 10 mins respectively) and both offer beautiful views. The area where we are located is a lovely suburb to walk in with Orvieto cafe just around the corner - a firm favourite of the local dog owners. The unofficial 'Chinatown' of Auckland is in the Balmoral / Dominion Road area - a 'noodle-earning' 20-30-minute walk away or a short drive. There you will find a large array of delicious Asian cuisine. There are many other excellent eateries nearby, including the well-renowned Cazador restaurant & its deli/cafe. There are regular bus services along Mt Eden Road, which is a 5-minute walk away. State Highway 20 is also nearby for getting onto the motorway system. There's free parking on the road. A well-established garden has been created by using the local volcanic rock, through which the path winds to the apartment courtyard entrance. This is a great suburban location for your stay in Auckland.
This was an amazing place with so much character! I needed a quiet place to write and it was perfect. Jennifer and Robert were splendid hosts. I hope to come back!
Robbert is a great person, he’s the owner of the house, the place is quiet nice and peaceful, the apartment has all equipment when you need except washing machine, the room is quiet big and warm, I am highly recommended, you will be happy when you stay here.
Mt Eden is a lovely established suburb of Auckland. It is named after the volcanic cone Mt Eden, also called Maungawhau in Maori. There is a view directly North to the mountain from the apartment. Just around the corner is the Three Kings reserve which is another volcanic cone and it is the only remaining 'King' of the Three Kings. Both Mt Eden and Three Kings are within walking distance and have fantastic views across the entire isthmus of Auckland.
There are many pleasant walks in the neighbourhood with cafes and the unofficial 'Chinatown' area a short drive away for delicious Asian cuisine.
There is close and regular bus services on Mt Eden Road which is only a 5 minute walk away. The Airport bus runs past the end of the road so it is very easy to get to and from the airport without needing catch expensive taxis. State Highway 20 is also nearby so getting in and out of town by car is easy. There are many nice walks in the neighbourhood and plenty of eating & cafe options.

自我介绍
Kia ora I'm Jennifer, Auckland is my home and like many cities of the world, it is much easier to enjoy with some local knowledge. There are so many things to do and see here, or simply enjoy a relaxed break and live like a 'local'. As for me, I like to cook and garden and I have an organic vegetable allotment. I love walking and being in the outdoors. I try to tread gently on the earth and to be kind. I look forward to seeing you soon.
