Wow! Where do I start? Philippe was a superb host in every possible way. He communicated clearly, despite the language barrier, and could not have been more helpful, offering us restaurant suggestions (excellent) and lots of tips. The house itself is lovely, very well equipped, with comfortable beds, and it was all spotless. The garden was lovely too, private and with the bonus of a boules court and a table tennis table as well as the swimming pool. It was great to sit out in the September sun on the comfortable loungers too. The outdoor table is huge and shady, and there’s a gas BBQ. We all loved staying there, and would absolutely return. The area is right in the heart of Beaujolais and Cotes du Rhone wine country, and the local towns are great to explore. The local boulangerie with great bread and patisserie is 2 minutes drive into the next village. Double highly recommended!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille dans la belle demeure de Philippe qui nous a réservé un accueil très chaleureux et est resté attentionné et obligeant jusqu'à notre départ. Le village des Ardillats est calme et plein de charme et le jardin de Philippe, magnifique et reposant, offre une vue idyllique. Les enfants ont particulièrement apprécié la grande piscine chauffée, la table de ping-pong, le terrain de pétanque ainsi que les nombreux jeux de société mis à disposition par Philippe. Gîte idéalement situé pour découvrir cette belle région du Beaujolais!

We (group of four adults and two children) had a fantastic stay at Philippe’s house. Philippe and his family were very welcoming and put a lot of personal effort into ensuring our stay was perfect. They were discrete and attentive and offered their facilities and local knowledge to help us enjoy the area. The house was perfect for our needs, with lots of space and the pool was fantastic. Everything was very clean. The location was stunning - even better than we imagined. The surrounding Beaujolais Cru villages in the local hills are picture perfect and we enjoyed a few chateau tours for wine tasting. Philippe also arranged a visit to a local small producer for us (Jean Michel Dupre) which helped us understand smaller scale wine making. Jean Michel was incredibly warm, welcoming and generous in his time explaining his wine and methods and his wine very good. Overall, Philippe is one of the best hosts we have had. Recommended.

A great base for one large family or two small families to explore the Beaujolais. The villa is very comfortable, well-equipped and peaceful. Nice garden and pool, with lawn games. Philippe is a fantastic host, who has thought of everything.

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable aux Ardillats. Philippe nous a accueilli chaleureusement et la maison s'est révélée être très confortable, bien équipée. L'environnement est calme et apaisant. C'est idéal pour passer un séjour de détente. Philippe s'est rendu disponible pour nous donner des informations pratiques sur le secteur.
